Bangor First City in Maine to End Sale of Flavored Tobacco Products

Bangor First City in Maine to End Sale of Flavored Tobacco ProductsOn October 25th, the city of Bangor adopted a new policy aimed at protecting our kids from tobacco and nicotine addiction. The Bangor City Council voted to remove all flavored tobacco products from the market. This will now ensure we don’t lose a new generation of kids to nicotine. This bold step by Bangor will help make the community healthier and safer against the harms from tobacco.

Now it is time for other communities in Maine to follow Bangor’s lead in putting our kids first, over tobacco company profits. In the weeks ahead, we will continue to pursue more local ordinances and work to make this statewide. To be successful, we will need your help to end the sale of all flavors in all tobacco products and build a healthier Maine.

Together we can do this!  Join our You’re the Cure network to get involved locally on these efforts. Thank you!  The AHA Maine Team
