Women of Distinction

American Heart Association seeks women of distinction

Women throughout New Jersey are making a difference in their communities by making extraordinary contributions to health, society and other women. These women aren’t sitting on the sidelines – they are saying, “Watch me make history” by building businesses, empowering others, leading civic organizations, helping neighbors or advocating for healthier, safer neighborhoods. And the American Heart Association wants to know about them.

The American Heart Association is currently accepting nominations for the 14th Annual American Heart Association Go Red for Women® “Woman of Distinction” Award. This award recognizes and celebrates New Jersey women promoting a healthy lifestyle for or among women, making sustained, unique or extraordinary efforts to improve the community as well as those who support and advance women’s issues or serve as a role model to others.

Nominations are being accepted until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in the following two categories:

  • Business, Industry, Healthcare
  • Education, Non-Profit, Community, Civic, Other.

Nomination forms are available at http://GardenStateGoRedLuncheon.Heart.org or by calling 609.223.3729.

The award will be presented at the 18th Annual American Heart Association Garden State Go Red for Women Luncheon, locally sponsored by RWJBarnabas Health, Capital Health and media sponsors NJBIZ, WCTC 1450 AM and Magic 98.3, on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. The luncheon is a cornerstone piece of the American Heart Association Go Red for Women movement, which is a national initiative committed to improving cardiovascular health among women. Nationally sponsored by CVS Health and Encompass Health, Go Red for Women believes that every woman has a reason to live a healthier, longer life and empowers women—and men—to take charge of their heart health.

The Go Red for Women Luncheon raises funds to support this lifesaving movement, supporting cutting-edge research, community programs and professional education focused on cardiovascular health.
