Heart Walk ad campaign launching on MBTA

The Boston Heart Walk is launching an advertising campaign on the MBTA, starting on Aug. 1. The campaign, which will run for the entire month, highlights two local survivors who have been key volunteers for the American Heart Association.

The ads focus on the American Heart Association celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Boston Heart Walk this year. To mark the occasion, we’re asking people in Greater Boston what they’re celebrating.

Lorena Tovar, a stroke and heart surgery survivor from Watertown, is celebrating “a bright future.” She recently found out that she’s pregnant. Jessica Diaz, a local fitness instructor who also suffered a stroke, is celebrating “an active life.”

Two subway platform posters will be posted at each of these stations:
• South Station
• Central
• Charles MGH
• Harvard Square
• State

Twenty-five rail interior cards will be posted on trains at both North and South stations.

We want other people in Greater Boston to tell us what they’re celebrating, and we’d like to use their photo to promote the Sept. 10 walk. If you or someone you know would like to participate in the campaign, leave your contact information the comments section.
