Business Leaders Steer the First Annual Greater Northern New Jersey Heart Walk

The Greater Northern New Jersey Heart Walk combines 3 former walks (Essex County, Morris County and Union County) into one mega walk taking place on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the ADP Corporate Headquarters in Roseland, NJ.  Registration on the 23rd will open at 8:00am while the Heart Walk kicks off at 10:00am.

The American Heart Association is committed to helping Americans eat better, move more and live longer.  The first annual Greater Northern New Jersey Heart Walk is part of this movement and serves as the cornerstone walking, recognition and celebration event which annually brings together thousands helping to raise funds to support lifesaving cardiovascular research in an effort to fight our No. 1 and No. 5 health threats: heart disease and stroke.

“Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Greater Northern New Jersey Heart Walk will create an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire family,” said Mark Connolly, MD, FACS, FACC, President of the American Heart Association in Northern New Jersey and Chairman, Department of Surgery, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.  “We’ve been able to put together an extraordinary executive leadership team to help us with the first annual Greater Northern New Jersey Heart Walk which is sure to be a great success.”

When you join the Heart Walk, you join more than a million people in over 300 cities across America taking a stand against heart disease and stroke while helping save lives.  The funds raised at the Heart Walk support putting up-to-the-minute research into doctors’ hands so they can better prevent and treat heart disease and stroke, in both adults and children.  Getting life-saving information to those who need it most – information that can save a life, like how to eat better, how to recognize the warning signs of heart attack, and how to talk to a doctor about critical health choices.
