The Southern New England Heart Ball will host approximately 300 guests at the Marble House in Newport on Saturday, June 11. This black-tie optional gala spotlights the American Heart Association’s work to fight heart disease and stroke in our community and will strive to raise $500,000 to fund lifesaving research and education. This year’s Heart Ball is inspired by the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a children’s novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow, originally published in Chicago in 1900. As we travel with Dorothy down the yellow brick road, we will highlight research advances funded by the American Heart Association and introduce characters that represent all the ways heart disease and stroke impacts our community.
