Dr. Beth Bouchard to Chair Vermont Go Red for Women Luncheon

Dr. Beth Bouchard has signed on to be the Chairwoman of the 2020 Vermont Go Red for Women Luncheon on March 19 at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT. Dr. Bouchard is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

Cardiovascular disease kills one woman about every 80 seconds. The good news is, about 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases and stroke can be prevented. Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative nationally sponsored by CVS Health, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.

Dr. Bouchard has been a member of several American Heart Association professional committees and has a current research program to identify the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate blood clotting under normal conditions and following traumatic injuries. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association.

“I am excited to be chairing this year’s Go Red for Women Luncheon because I’ve personally seen the impact the American Heart Association’s research has had on heart disease and stroke. The funds and awareness that are raised at the Go Red for Women Luncheon saves lives,” said Dr. Bouchard.
