EVP & CEO of Health Systems for Philips to Chair 2015 Boston Heart Walk

The American HeMike Mancusoart Association is pleased to announce that Mike Mancuso, Executive Vice President and CEO of Health Systems for Philips, will chair the 2015 Boston Heart Walk set for Saturday, September 12th at the DCR Hatch Shell along the Charles River Esplanade.

As chair, Mancuso is encouraging companies, organizations and residents throughout Greater Boston to come together to support the American Heart Association in its mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The Heart Walk brings together more than 10,000 people and raises critical funds for life-saving heart and stroke research and education.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to join the American Heart Association in the fight against our nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke,” Mancuso said. “Boston is one of the healthiest cities in the United States and the Heart Walk provides an opportunity for us to continue to demonstrate leadership in building a healthier community for all.”

Prior to joining Philips, Mancuso held several executive leadership roles including Chairman of the Board and CEO of Cambridge, Massachusetts-based, VidSoft Inc.; President and CEO of VidSys Inc. of Washington, DC; President and COO of Aether Systems and Cerulean Technologies; and General Manager with Data General/EMC. Mancuso received his Bachelor’s degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from Babson College.

Mancuso is an influential leader in the Greater Boston community and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Merrimack Valley YMCA, founding board member of the Music & Youth Initiative, and has also served on the board of the American Heart Association in Boston.

The Boston Heart Walk will be held rain or shine on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade.  Registration begins at 9:00am followed by opening ceremonies at 10:00am, the red cap wave and tribute ceremony at 10:15am, and the walk kicks-off at 10:30am. Walk routes include a 1- or 6-mile (10k) path along the Charles River Esplanade. The Boston Heart Walk is nationally sponsored by Subway and locally sponsored by Philips Healthcare, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Scientific.
