Four cities along Elk River Trail adopt “Active People, Healthy Living” Initiative in West Virginia

Four cities along Elk River Trail adopt “Active People, Healthy Living” Initiative in West VirginiaWalking along the Elk River Trail offers some beautiful sights for West Virginians. The trail runs through four cities – Clendenin, Clay, Sutton, and Gassaway – and offers these communities a chance to connect with nature and enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery that West Virginia has to offer.

But it’s not just about picturesque landscapes. Recently, the mayors of these four cities joined together to sign a proclamation to bring the CDC’s “Active People, Healthy Living” initiative to the Elk River Trail. The initiative has a goal of getting 27 million Americans up and moving, so these cities saw the Elk River Trail as a perfect means to make this happen.

We are proud to see this initiative come to life along one of the most beautiful stretches in West Virginia and know that this will help improve the heart health of the region!

Here is a video highlighting the signing event.
