Heart’s Delight serves up a four-day celebration of life and heart health

World-class winemakers, oenophiles, chefs, and foodies gathered in Washington, DC from May 4-7 for the nation’s only four-day celebration of food and wine benefiting the American Heart Association. The 22^nd annual Greater Washington Region Heart’s Delight Wine Tasting & Auction chaired by John Bozzella of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation highlighted the best in American and Bordeaux wines, attracting attendees from around the globe.

Festivities kicked off with the Congress Has Heart Reception & Collectors Dinner overlooking the United States Capitol followed by the Embassy & Winemaker Dinner Series on Thursday, May 5, which included intimate meals and wine tastings at private homes, restaurants, and embassies. Guests gathered on Friday at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery for the highly-anticipated Vintners Dinner & Auction highlighting the wine of Château Lafite Rothschild presented by Guest of Honor Baron Eric de Rothschild. The celebration concluded on Saturday as guests were transported to Bordeaux with a master class followed by a grand tasting with wine stations from around the world and food stations.

Three silent and three live auctions featured rare wine in grand formats, exclusive travel packages, and exceptional dining experiences – raising over $1.6 million!
