Springfield Township Middle School students waited nearly three years to bring back its annual dodgeball tournament. Greg Cannon and students held a presentation ceremony to present close to $4,000 to the American Heart Association after holding a dodgeball tournament fundraiser held on April 29th. The event was coordinated by teacher, Greg Cannon and two students Grace Bell and Michael Capoferri. “There’s nothing like a friendly competition among teachers and staff with children and their families coming to watch and cheer us on,” said Greg Cannon, a teacher at Springfield Township Middle School. “It was a great fundraiser filled with lots of laughter, smiles, and memories.”
The dodgeball tournament is an educational, in-school fundraising program in collaboration with the American Heart Association with two goals: 1) to educate students about cardiovascular disease and the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and 2) provide them with an opportunity to make a difference by raising money to fund research to prevent heart disease and stroke.
