Stephanie Jones of Conemaugh Health System to chair 2023 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball

As plans are underway for the 2023 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball, Stephanie Jones, director of cardiovascular and respiratory services at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been named chair of this year’s community-wide campaign. The Heart Ball celebrates progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association throughout the year and are committed to investing in saving and improving lives in the community.

“As a nurse, I know first-hand the devastating effects of heart disease and stroke,” said Jones. “The American Heart Association has long supported scientific research that is helping more and more people survive, including heart and stroke patients right here in our community.”

A 22-year veteran at Conemaugh, Jones has spent 20 years of her career in cardiovascular services and assisted in achieving and promoting accreditations from the American College of Cardiology as a center for chest pain with Primary PCI and heart failure at Conemaugh. She recently has developed a Heart Failure Program at Conemaugh Hospital.

A Johnstown native and Bishop McCort Catholic High School alumnus, she graduated from Conemaugh School of Nursing in 2000. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree, with an emphasis of leadership, from Grand Canyon University. She is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at St. Francis University.

As Heart Ball chair, Jones will lead a 9-person executive leadership team that includes:

The 2023 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball is slated for Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown. The annual celebratory event is a night to honor survivors, patrons and volunteers of the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health. The evening will feature stories from survivors, presentation of the annual Heart Hall of Fame Award, as well as dinner, dancing and a silent and live auction. The event is sponsored by Conemaugh Health System, Conemaugh Physicians Group, UPMC and UPMC Health Plan, First Summit Bank, Highmark, Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Ameriserv and other generous supporters.

The dollars raised by the Cambria Somerset Heart Ball fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while working toward the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.
