Bryant University Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2022 Shares How They Are Staying Healthy At Home Preparing for the 2020 VIRTUAL #SNEHeartWalk

With the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic keeping more Americans at home,  the Bryant University Physician Assistant Program Class of 2022 has taken their pledge to keep their hearts and minds healthy during these stressful times.  As part of their fundraising efforts for the 2020 Southern New England & South Coast Heart Walk the students have come together, while apart, to show the public healthy and fun ways to help stay Healthy for Good.

On Sunday, May 31st, the students will put their stethoscopes aside and lace up their sneakers to participate in the 2020 Southern New England & South Coast VIRTUAL Heart Walk. Heart Walk participants and teams will not physically meet but are invited to get moving at home or around the neighborhood starting at 10:00 AM on the Facebook Event Page, hosted by WJAR NBC 10’S Dan Jaehnig.

Throughout the day, #heartwalkers can walk where they are and participate by:

  • Commit to getting your walk in on Sunday May 31st! It can be anywhere! On a treadmill in your house, at a local park, getting your family together around your neighborhood as you walk your dog etc. It doesn’t matter HOW you move, just that you ARE moving!
  • Register at SNEHeartWalk.org to get important updates!
  • Capture the unique ways you are incorporating movement in your favorite RED gear and post it on social media using the hashtag #SNEHeartWalk!
  • Let’s put your steps to work and continue to fundraise for research, education and transformational advocacy in our community by registering, donating and fundraising at www.SNEHeartWalk.org
  • Support by sharing your fundraising page, or text “SNEGIVES” to 41444!

The American Heart Association’s top priority is the health and well-being of individuals and their families today and in the future, in every community, everywhere. Millions of people are counting on the Heart Association for science-based information, health resources, community programs and patient support. We are continuing our mission-critical work in these challenging times and we know that people with cardiovascular diseases are more likely to be seriously impacted by the virus than others. By participating and donating to the Southern New England & South Coast Heart Walk, you are supporting the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association during this current public health crisis and beyond. Funds raised support education that is helping our communities be healthier, and critical research including efforts to help us better understand the heart and brain implications of COVID-19 on heart and stroke patients.

Heart Walk supports the critical mission of the American Heart Association and now, more than ever, is highlighting the benefits of staying physically active. We are here to help families through these times by providing a virtual experience that allows us to have fun, stay connected and adapt to spending more time at home.
