Addressing Hypertension in New York State

The American Heart Association is working to improve hypertension across New York State with a brand new event.

The virtual Regional Hypertension Summit will bring together health care organizations, medical practices, and health-focused organizations from across New York State to collectively address blood pressure control and recognize Target: BP™ achievements. Target: BP is a national initiative formed by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association (AMA) in response to the high prevalence of uncontrolled blood pressure.

The event will be hosted on Zoom from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on World Stroke Day, Friday, October 29th. Hypertension is a major risk factor for stroke.

Sessions will focus on the AHA/ACC hypertension guidelines and evidence-based blood pressure activities inspired by the MAP framework (Measure accurately. Act rapidly. Partner with patients.). The Summit will feature local and national experts and create a network of learning amongst providers and community-based organizations that have a role in hypertension management.
