STEM Goes Red is a day-long event held by the American Heart Association to
inspire 7th grade girls to explore science, technology, engineering and math outside
of the classroom, while embracing being heart healthy.
This year’s event, which will be held on Nov. 19 at UMass Boston, will feature interactive breakout sessions, an empowering keynote and opportunities for girls to work in small groups with volunteer STEM mentors. Students will gain hands-on experience, connect with inspiring leaders and walk away knowing they can become a collective force for health in their communities through a career in STEM.
Earlier this year, on April 10, we held our inaugural STEM Goes Red event at the Kroc Corps Community Center in Dorchester. About 75 middle school girls from the Boston Public Schools attended.
