American Heart Association’s NYC Wall Street Run & Heart Walk Returns in 2022

Toby Dodd and Bruce Mosler of Cushman & Wakefield to Serve as Co-Chairs, Embrace Resilience

As New York City continues its long-awaited reopening in response to the progress made against the coronavirus pandemic and rising vaccination rates, the American Heart Association, a global force for a world of longer, healthier lives, is proud to announce the return of its signature NYC event, the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk, to an in-person format on Thursday, May 19, 2022. The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is a culmination of the Association’s year-round NYC Heart Challenge movement, which is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the health of all New Yorkers.

The American Heart Association is proud to announce that Toby Dodd, President, New York Tri-State Region, and Bruce Mosler, Chairman of Global Brokerage and Chairman of Military and Veterans Program, at Cushman & Wakefield will serve as Executive Co-Chairs for the 2022 NYC Heart Challenge movement.

“On behalf of our team at Cushman & Wakefield, I am delighted to serve as Co-Chair for this year’s Heart Challenge,” said Toby Dodd. “The return of the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is testament to New York’s resiliency, and while we’ve made great progress, physical and mental health will be central to our continued social and economic recovery. Specifically, we need to continue focusing on cardiovascular health which remains a leading cause of death and disability for many Americans. Over the past two years the American Heart Association and its many supporters across the five boroughs, have raised the awareness and funds to take on these very serious threats, and we have much more to do as we prioritize the health and wellness of all New Yorkers.”

Like in previous years, the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk will be a 3-mile walk/run designed to engage New York City corporations and communities in activities that promote heart health through physical activity, friendly competition, volunteerism, fundraising and fun. This event has historically brought together over 150 of New York City’s top companies and about 12,000 participants.

“We want to thank the volunteers and thousands of people who will come together to walk, raise funds, and share their stories of the lasting effects of stroke and heart disease. I would also like to recognize Leila Araiche and Brian Kingston of Brookfield Properties, for their leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic as the 2021 NYC Heart Challenge Executive Co-Chairs,” said Bruce Mosler. “I invite all New Yorkers to walk or run with us to honor the amazing sacrifices that so many in our communities made during the height of the pandemic, and we also encourage all of you whose loved ones have been impacted by heart diseases and stroke to join this movement. Together, we can celebrate those who came before us and ensure that the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association has a brilliant future.”

The 2022 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk race and festival will be held at Brookfield Place at 230 Vesey Street, New York, NY Thursday, May 19th from 5pm-8pm with the race starting at 6:45 p.m.

“The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is special and we’re so excited to be back in-person so that we can share it with our fellow New Yorkers,” said Meg Gilmartin, Executive Director and Senior Vice President, American Heart Association in New York City. “Toby and Bruce and the entire Cushman & Wakefield team are wonderful ambassadors of our mission. With the impressive and dedicated executive leadership team that they have surrounded themselves with this year’s event will be impactful, memorable and one of a kind.”
