Local Leaders Unite to Support Heart Health Initiatives as the Association Enters Its Second Century of Impact
LONG ISLAND, NY – November 15, 2024 – Over 150 business and healthcare leaders gathered at the Garden City Hotel on October 24, 2024, for the 2024 Long Island Heart and Stroke Ball. The event celebrated the American Heart Association’s century-long dedication to fighting heart disease and stroke, while raising essential funds to support its lifesaving initiatives. The theme for this year’s event, Four Chambers, was inspired by the structure of the heart, symbolizing the pillars of equity, knowledge, discovery and advocacy. This focus highlighted the Association’s dedication to promoting heart health across generations, positioning everyone as a caretaker of the torch in the ongoing fight for longer, healthier lives.
Christopher H. Palmer, Managing Partner at Cullen and Dykman LLP and this year’s Centennial Event Chair, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the Association’s mission, saying, “Cullen and Dykman is honored to stand with the American Heart Association as we look ahead to the next century of innovation and impact. It’s a privilege to be part of this work that touches so many lives.” As part of their sponsorship, Cullen and Dykman LLP supported the “Ball for All” initiative by donating sports equipment—collected during the event—to Cornwell Avenue Elementary School in West Hempstead on November 14, furthering their investment in community health.
“The Long Island Heart and Stroke Ball is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together,” said Tara Lee Schneider, Executive Director of the Association on Long Island. “This year’s support enables us to drive forward our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.”
