Beebe Healthcare’s executive director takes steps to save lives in Southern Delaware

Trobiano to chair 2024 Southern Delaware Heart Walk

March 2024, Rehoboth DE – The American Heart Association, devoted to a world of
healthier lives for all, is pleased to announce Thomas Trobiano, DNP, APRN, FNP-C,
MAPC, Executive Director of Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Services and Clinical
Operations with Beebe Healthcare, will serve as chair for the 2024 Southern Delaware
Heart Walk.

The Heart Walk supports the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, whose
mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives in Southern
Delaware and throughout the country. The Heart Walk is an opportunity for
participants to walk in honor of those who suffer from heart disease and stroke, and to
raise funds for the advancement of research initiatives and community programs. Heart
disease is the nation’s No. 1 cause of death, claiming nearly a million American lives
each year, more than all forms of cancer combined.

“As chair, I am eager to build on the American Heart Association’s lifesaving impact by
connecting local community leaders and health advocates to its mission,” said
Trobiano. “Whether you walk for yourself or a loved one, we are all connected to heart
disease and stroke in some way, and the steps we take now will help save lives for years
to come.”

As chair, Trobiano will lead a team of leadership executives to recruit companies and
organizations to participate in the Heart Walk. Through these initiatives, the leadership
team and supporting organizations will raise awareness and funds for the American
Heart Association while working to advance health equity, corporate engagement, and
community health.

“The American Heart Association celebrates 100 years of impact in 2024” said Shabool
Henry, executive director of American Heart Association Delaware. “As we look ahead
to the future of our lifesaving work, we are thrilled to have Tom Trobiano take the reins
and lead the Southern Delaware Heart Walk in our Centennial year.”

A native of Northern New Jersey, Trobiano joined Beebe in 2021 and holds degrees in
nursing and psychology, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of
Maryland School of Nursing.

Heart disease and stroke are largely preventable, and how you eat, move, and manage
stress impacts your well-being, physically and mentally. The Heart Walk provides
resources, tools, and activities to support both mental and physical well-being for all
Delawareans.

The 2024 Southern Delaware Heart Walk will take place Nov. 3 beginning at the
Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. For more information about the event or to get involved,
