LAWRENCE + MEMORIAL PRESIDENT SUPPORTING EASTERN CONNECTICUT HEART WALK

“The Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk promotes health and well-being while supporting the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association,” said Green. “We are grateful for

the support from the eastern Connecticut community who continue to support much-needed research to fight heart disease and stroke. Awareness about heart-healthy living is

more crucial than ever as the pandemic has exposed vulnerabilities of those with preexisting conditions, which is why we at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital are proud to be part of this important initiative.”

The Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk is back in person at Rocky Neck State Park and kicks off at 10am, following state and local guidelines. Heart Walk participants are encouraged to follow the American Heart Association’s Connecticut Facebook page to find pre-event challenges and information to make the Heart Walk experience more fun.

A leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease is lack of physical activity. Walking improves heart health, reduces stroke risk, and lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. The Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk encourages physical activity while raising funds to support research, advocacy and awareness of heart disease and stroke.
