The Founders Affiliate of the American Heart Association (AHA) recently appointed Marc Hamroff, Esq. to their eight-state Affiliate Board of Directors. Hamroff is Managing Partner, Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP. He will serve a two-year board term.

“We are pleased to welcome Marc Hamroff to the Founders Affiliate Board of Directors,” said Founders Affiliate Executive Director Heather J. Kinder.

“Being able to draw upon Marc’s talent and expertise represents an invaluable asset as we work together across the eight states of the Founders Affiliate to achieve our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”

We look forward to drawing upon Marc’s 5 years of leadership on the AHA’s Long Island Board. Among the events Hamroff supports on Long Island are: the Long Island Heart Ball, Hamptons Heart Ball, the Long Island Heart Walk, Go Red For Women Luncheon and National Wear Red Day.  Marc has run the NYC Marathon 3 times for the American Heart Association and has since recruited teams to run the NYC marathon for the American Heart Association as well.

Marc has also been the past chair of our Long Island Golf Outing. Since his involvement, the event has been brought to another level.  His dad, Joel, was a past Board Chair for the American Heart Association on Long Island and a Golf honoree. The Golf outing is now in his dad’s name and is played in memory of him each year.  The 2017 event plans to expand to two golf courses and we thank Marc for recruiting the honorees for the golf outing for the past four years.

As past Long Island Board Chair, Marc took an active role in recruiting new Board members, sponsors and volunteers. He led our Leadership Development Committee recruiting new Board members yearly. Under Marc’s leadership the Long Island Board was recognized by the National American Heart Association as a Gold Standard Board.

Because of Marc’s Advocacy efforts, he was elected to the Tobacco Use, Prevention & Control Advisory Board in Albany and he continues to support the American Heart Association’s mission, as it particularly relates to reducing death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Marc and his firm and his firm also support the Make a Wish Gala, Her Justice- annual stair climb to support the legal services of women regarding domestic violence issues, Dress Down Denim Day – American Cancer Society, Beach Walk for the Ace & Hole Foundation – Wounded Warrior Project and other causes.
