The Biggest Loser contestant to speak at Wellness Summit

On June 1st, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association will host the 3rd Annual Regional Executive Wellness Summit in Binghamton. The day-long event helps local businesses invest in their wellness programs to improve their bottom lines and build the health of their employees.

During the summit, attendees will get the chance to hear from keynote speaker Trent Patterson. Patterson appeared on Season 5 of The Biggest Loser and is now dedicated to helping others jump start their journey to wellness.

From Trent Patterson:

As a result of being on Season 5 of the Biggest Loser, I was able to successfully begin my journey to better health and wellness. Since that time I created “Training For Life Systems.”  My mission is to educate and motivate people of all ages with exercise and nutritional tools that will help them improve their health & fitness, functionality and quality of life. I will be the first to admit, I was not prepared for life after sports. By not understanding nor changing my over indulging eating habits I developed as a top level athlete, I ended up at 436 lbs. When my playing days were over I felt as though I had nothing else to train for…. No real motivation.

This has changed, I have a new lease on life.  I want to live to be over 100 years old. I want to be around for my wife and sons and to live a healthy functional life as I age. With that being said, I realized I had to make some changes in my thinking and way of life. I needed to find ways to stay motivated to train and live a healthier lifestyle. I believe there is no greater reason or purpose for training then for better health and quality of life. So, what I came up with is my “Training For Life Systems.” I focus on exercise and nutrition. I use a variety of function based strength and fitness exercises that are designed to improve strength, explosive power, flexibility, balance, tone and reshape the body. The nutritional component provides information, tips and advice for a better understanding of blood sugar stabilization, calories, portion control and the benefits of proper nutrition. I believe the combination of the two are equally important when it comes to losing weight, maintaining healthy weight and staying fit. I’ve designed my system to meet you where you are and take you to a higher level. I believe with knowledge and education comes empowerment and that’s what you get from my “Training For Life Systems.” I’m committed to helping people get healthy and fit and reach their short and long term goals. I believe by “Changing your Mind, Body and Soul” all dreams can come true and your life can be changed.
