FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York City, April 3, 2018— The American Heart Association, the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, announced today that Michael R. Rosella, partner of the law firm Paul Hastings LLP, will serve as Event Chair of the 2018 New York City Heart & Stroke Ball scheduled for June 6.
The 2018 Heart & Stroke Ball celebrates the volunteers, survivors and donors who bring the American Heart Association’s mission to life. This year, the event will focus on an important theme: Access to quality care, heart-healthy food and health education for all residents of New York City.
“It is an honor to serve as Event Chair for the 2018 Heart & Stroke Ball,” said Mr. Rosella. “Heart disease and stroke remain the number one and number five killers of Americans. As leaders in our community, it is our responsibility to ensure that every New Yorker has access to quality care, nutritious foods, an active lifestyle and education that will help us all live longer, healthier lives. By joining our resources, expertise and passion for the mission of the American Heart Association, we can improve the health of all New Yorkers.”
“We live in a city of abundant resources, but the truth is that not all New Yorkers have equal access those resources,’ said Kathy Kauffmann, Senior Vice President in New York City and Long Island. “By focusing on access and health inequity, we can begin to produce the change needed to truly build a culture of health for every New Yorker, regardless of their background, income or zip code. I want to thank Michael Rosella and every volunteer, survivor and donor who actively champions the mission of the American Heart Association. Our life-saving work would not be possible without individuals like you.”
The 2018 Heart & Stroke Ball will take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Cipriani Wall Street at 55 Wall Street. For more information, please contact Suzanne Wilson at Suzanne.Wilson@heart.org.
