Jenny Barba of BioVentures Investors Chairs Upper Valley Go Red for Women Luncheon

Jenny Barba of BioVentures Investors, a medical device venture capital fund, is serving as the volunteer executive chairman of the American Heart Association 2019 Upper Valley Go Red for Women® Luncheon. Barba, a venture partner with BioVentures Investors, brings 20 years of experience as a strategic advisor in the healthcare financing industry, specializing in medical device technology. In the cardiovascular sector, Barba has advised numerous innovative companies at all stages of their lifecycle through growth capital raising and mergers and acquisitions.
Cardiovascular disease kills one woman about every 80 seconds. It is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of one in three women. According to the American Heart Association, about 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases and stroke can be prevented. The Upper Valley Go Red for Women Luncheon, scheduled for February 8 at the Hanover Inn in Hanover, NH, aims to educate and inspire women to take action to end heart disease and stroke. Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative nationally sponsored by CVS Health, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.
Barba became involved in the Go Red for Women movement as a member of the executive leadership team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since moving to the Upper Valley, she has taken on the role of executive leadership team chairman and looks forward to continuing to expand the reach of the American Heart Association throughout the community. Barba’s family members have been able to live healthy lives due to advancements in heart health and prevention, and she believes that the work of the American Heart Association has a meaningful impact on saving lives.
