Graffiti Alley Take Over for World Stroke Day is a unique awareness campaign that was developed by the American Heart Association’s Baltimore team in 2016.
This takeover event is aimed at raising awareness of the No. 2 killer worldwide – stroke. This year, community partners Johns Hopkins Hospital and Live Chair were on hand to provide blood pressure screenings and resources. Local Life is Why and #StrongerHearts sponsor, LifeBridge Health, supported our efforts at Graffiti Alley by bringing a team to speak about the importance of stroke awareness. The AHA staff mobilized a street team to canvas the surrounding neighborhoods to hand out stroke resources including the acronym F.A.S.T. . Local graffiti artist, Adam Stab, brought World Stroke Day messaging to life through his art.
