The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Cristina Civetta, advocate and heart survivor, will be Chair of the American Heart Association’s 24th Annual Hamptons Heart Ball. In her role as Chairperson, she will assist in raising support and creating awareness about heart disease and stroke as it pertains to the Long Island community. The 24th Annual Hamptons Heart Ball will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Southampton Arts Center in Southampton, NY.
Cristina Civetta is a native New Yorker who has had a career in the events and business development capacity for over 15 years. She was born with congenital heart disease and has since undergone seven lifesaving surgeries. After her open-heart surgery in 2013, she became passionate about the cause of heart disease prevention and education. Cristina has been a fierce advocate in spreading the message of testing, checking for heart disease and overall health and wellness. Cristina’s parents Nicola and Peggy Civetta have been the biggest advocates in the fight for her to live and helping her understand her condition. Her brothers Michele and Francesco have been constant pillars of support as well as her best friends from Sacred Heart whom she considers sisters.
In her career, Cristina built brand strategy for companies such as Electric Hospitality, i-D magazine, Chelsea Hotel Group, Total-Management, Moet Hennessy, and the Global Poverty Project as well as executing events globally. Cristina has a deep understanding of business development and strategic partnerships especially in the charity sector, working for over five years to support the American Heart Association and as a board member of the Wolf Conservation Center. Cristina lives between Manhattan and Pound Ridge, NY with her husband, Ed Scheetz.
