The American Heart Association is pleased to announce the opening of the 2020-2021 New York City Community Impact Grant application process. This grant will provide funding for non-profit organizations with programs and projects that have a focus on expanding access to healthy food for children living in under-served communities throughout the five boroughs of New York City. A total of $100,000 has been allocated for grant distribution for this upcoming fiscal year.
Since 2008, the American Heart Association has recognized the need to fund and support community-based activities in NYC that address our mission of being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Many local community groups and organizations are working, or would like to work, on projects that would result in improvement in the overall health of our communities.
Priority consideration will be given to proposals that promote systemic change through strong, outcome-focused initiatives (including, but not limited to, community collaborations, environmental and programmatic interventions, and policy advocacy) that target priority neighborhoods most burdened by a limited access to healthy food.
All interested non-profit organizations can apply online at NYCCIG.heart.org. To be considered, the NYCCIG online application and supplemental documentation must be submitted no later than Friday, May 8, 2020.
