Kimberly Davis named as the American Heart Association’s 2021 Baltimore Go Red for Women Chair with Versant Health’s support.

The American Heart Association (AHA) of Greater Maryland is proud to announce Kimberly Davis, Chief Accounting Officer, Versant Health as the 2021 Go Red for Women Chair.

“It is truly an honor to be named the Chair of this year’s AHA Go Red for Women Campaign.  As women, we tend to ignore our own health as we focus on taking care of others.  This is especially true in minority communities where access to care remains a barrier to early diagnosis and preventative care.  As someone who is passionate about women’s issues, I plan to use this platform to highlight the importance of women’s heart health and the necessity of self care.” – Kimberly Davis

Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s global movement to end heart disease and stroke in women. Launched nationally in 2004 to close the gap in awareness, Go Red quickly expanded into a worldwide movement dedicated to removing the barriers women face to achieving good health and wellbeing. Each June, the year-round campaign’s success is celebrated at the Go Red for Women Luncheon. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Go Red for Women in Baltimore.

About Go Red for Women®

The American Heart Association’s signature initiative, Go Red for Women®, is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. While nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. For 17 years, Go Red for Women has encouraged awareness. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. The Go Red for Women movement is nationally sponsored by CVS Health, with additional support from national cause supporters.
