Go Red for Women NYC Returns, Urges Women to ‘Reclaim Your Rhythm’

Khaliah Ali, mother, humanitarian, and designer, will serve as Keynote Speaker.

The American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, the Go Red for Women® movement, will return to an in-person event on Wednesday, April 27 at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers at 5pm EDT. This re-imagined high-energy, inspiring, and impactful event aims to empower women from across New York City to reclaim control of their mental and physical well-being after two difficult years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic has impacted our health in many unexpected ways: stress has soared while physical and mental health have declined. One thing that has not changed is that cardiovascular disease remains the No. 1 killer of women. That’s why we are dedicated to continuing empowering women to reclaim their health,” said Joanne Dunbar, FCPA, Principal, People Advisory Services at EY and the 2022 NYC Go Red for Women Chair. “On behalf of the Go Red NYC Executive Leadership team, I want to thank our donors, supporters and volunteers for their commitment to this important work. Together, we will fight for the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.”

The American Heart Association in New York City is proud to welcome Khaliah Ali, mother, humanitarian, and designer, as our Keynote Speaker. Khaliah, who is the daughter of the legendary boxer and activist Muhammad Ali, is a champion for women’s health equity. She will inspire guests by sharing her personal journey to improved health and well-being.

Go Red for Women is excited to announce a special performance by the Northwell Health Nurse Choir, the group of talented frontline nurses from different specialties across Northwell Health’s numerous facilities, who rose to fame after advancing to the Season 16 Finale of America’s Got Talent in September of 2021. The group has since graced world-renowned stages including the White House, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, and the Broadway stage.

Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health and locally sponsored by Northwell Health, Pfizer, and Rewire Me by Rose Caiola.
