Eric Jermyn

The 2023 Maine Go Red for Women® Luncheon, which will take place on March 21, 2023 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, will be chaired by Eric Jermyn, President of Employee Benefits at Cross Insurance. The goal of this event is to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death for women in the United States, as well as generate funds for lifesaving cardiovascular research for women.

The Portland event is celebrating its 16th year and this year’s goal is to raise $475,000 for the Go Red for Women movement. The event will feature inspiring survivor stories, heart health and stroke education, and the presentation of two Crystal Heart Awards.

Jermyn will be assisted by members of the Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team which includes: Shelly Afthim, Sea Bags; Bill Bourassa, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; Kevan Lee Deckelmann, Bernstein Shur; Lucie Hannigan, Machias Savings Bank; Janice Latulippe; Jennifer McCarthy, Maine Medical Center; Jennifer Mirabile, Camden National Wealth Management; Amanda Rand, Spinnaker Trust; Terrence Ryan, Unum; Joan Smith, Baker Newman Noyes; Melanie Tinto, WEX; and Kim Twitchell, NBT Bank.

While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. Since 2004, Go Red for Women has had a profound impact on women’s health, challenging them to know their risk for heart disease and to take action to reduce their personal risk by sharing tools they need to lead a heart-healthy life. Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health. The luncheon’s local media sponsors are Channel 8 WMTW, Mainebiz and 101.9 POR.
