The 2023 Maine Heart Walk, scheduled for May 21st in Portland, will be chaired by Sarah Belliveau, CEO of BerryDunn. Belliveau and her committee have set a goal to raise $545,000 through corporate donations and walk teams. Every walker who joins and every dollar donated means more research, more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more medical breakthroughs and more champions for equitable health.
Members of the Heart Walk Executive Leadership team assisting Belliveau with planning and securing local support for the Heart Walk include: Dustin Brooks, UNUM; Andrew Cook, Mascoma Bank; Tim Connery, volunteer and stroke survivor; Steve deCastro, Gorham Savings Bank; Catherine Graham, New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland; Robert Hatem, Hannaford Supermarkets; David Landry, Spectrum Healthcare Partners; Jagtar Narula, WEX; Douglas Sawyer, MD, Maine Medical Center; Steve Smith, LL Bean; and Steve Woods, TideSmart (Promerica).
The Heart Walk will kick off with a morning celebration hosted by Channel 8 WMTW and 101.9 POR. The program will include a local heart disease survivor speaker, stroke prevention information, and useful prevention information aimed at inspiring people to improve their heart and brain health. Media sponsors are Channel 8 WMTW and 101.9 POR.
