Lou Gianquinto, President, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut and Paul Marchetti, President, CarelonRx to Co-Chair Greater New Haven Heart Walk

The American Heart Association, the largest voluntary health organization fighting cardiovascular diseases, announces Lou Gianquinto, President of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut and Paul Marchetti, President of CarelonRx are serving as co-chairs of the Greater New Haven Heart Walk. The annual Heart Walk will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

As Co-Chairs, Gianquinto and Marchetti will lead organizational and recruitment efforts in the Greater New Haven region to increase awareness of heart disease and stroke as the number one and number 5 leading causes of death in the United States, and to raise critical funds to combat these startling statistics. Building on their company’s mission to improve lives and communities and remove barriers to health equity, they will call on area volunteers, survivors, and business leaders to step up to support the organization’s efforts to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

As president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut, Gianquinto leads a health plan supporting the health needs of more than one million lives in Connecticut. He joined Anthem in January 2020 to run Anthem’s Missouri Medicaid health plan (Missouri Care, now branded Healthy Blue MO). He brings his deep industry experience to his current role where he is working to grow and innovate, particularly in the area of value-based care, in service of people across the state.
