2024 NH Go Red for Women Luncheon on February 15 in Concord aims to inspire and educate

For nearly two decades, the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign has raised awareness about women’s greatest health threat – cardiovascular disease. As the campaign celebrates 20 years of making an impact, and during the American Heart Association’s centennial year, the Association will hold its 2024 New Hampshire Go Red for Women Luncheon on February 15th at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

This signature event will feature inspiring survivor stories, as well as heart-health and stroke education.  The morning will kick off with an 11:00 am lecture and Q&A session, “Risk of stroke in women across the lifespan”, presented by Megan Donohue, MD, and Diana Rojas-Soto, vascular neurologists with Dartmouth Health.

“We are so grateful to the New Hampshire community for their passion for the Go Red for Women campaign,” said Langianese. “I am excited to lead this event, along with my team, as the American Heart Association launches into its second century of lifesaving work to end heart disease and stroke.”

The Executive Leadership Team for the 2024 New Hampshire Go Red for Women Luncheon, under Langianese’s leadership, includes: Melissa Golightly, Concord Hospital; Sharon Hartl, Encompass Health NH; Jim Merrill, Bernstein Shur; and Lisha Wallace, Northwestern Mutual.

While the majority of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women. Go Red for Women launched in 2004 to empower women to reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease, which continues to be the leading killer and is on the rise in younger women. This awareness campaign encourages women to take charge of their heart health by understanding their family health history, knowing their numbers and making lifestyle changes like moving more, eating smart and managing blood pressure.

Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health and locally by Dartmouth Health, CMC New England Heart &, Vascular Institute, Elliot Hospital, Encompass Health, Summit Title Services, BASC, and Apple Therapy. The luncheon’s local media sponsors are WMUR-TV, 95.7 WZID, New Hampshire Business Review and New Hampshire Magazine.
