Steve Hull, president of Leidos Digital, has been named chair of the 2026 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk. The Heart Walk will take place November 7, 2026, at the National Mall and it will bring together thousands of walkers and hundreds of teams of local companies, organizations and community groups, including survivors, health leaders, advocates and supporters of the American Heart Association’s mission. This year’s event aims to raise $2.5 million. As chair, Hull will drive fundraising, outreach and recruitment efforts alongside Executives with Heart Chair Joe Burke, partner at Grant Thornton, and the Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team.
At Leidos, Hull leads teams that help federal customers solve complex challenges through secure, resilient digital solutions. He oversees a portfolio that includes cyber operations, application modernization, IT infrastructure and enterprise digital experience, enabling defense, intelligence, health and civilian agencies to achieve critical mission outcomes.
“With a history of heart disease in my family, I am especially proud to chair this year’s Heart Walk,” said Hull. “The Heart Walk has given teams across Leidos an opportunity to build connection through monthly walks, heart health education and a little friendly competition.”
The Executives with Heart campaign aims to raise $900,000 and recruit 130 members. “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Steve Hull and the American Heart Association to rally workforce leaders across the region,” said Burke. “We’re coming together around a powerful mission: more people trained in CPR, more research and more life-saving moments for everyone.”
The Heart Walk will feature 1-mile and 3-mile walking options among Washington’s iconic monuments, a dedicated finish line to honor survivors, and festivities all morning long including fitness demonstrations, a Pet Party and parade, CPR demonstrations, a Kids Zone, music, games and more.
The festival area opens at 8:30 a.m., with the walk kicking off at 10 a.m. Every walker who joins and every dollar donated helps fund more people trained in CPR, more research, stronger advocacy efforts and healthier communities.
