Kiely Family of Companies’ senior vice president takes steps to save lives

The American Heart Association, devoted to a world of healthier lives for all, is proud to announce James “Jim” Pagano, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Kiely Family of Companies, will serve as chair of the 2024 Southern New Jersey Heart Walk.

The Heart Walk supports the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, whose mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives in Southern New Jersey and throughout the country. The Heart Walk is an opportunity for participants to walk in honor of those who suffer from heart disease and stroke, and to raise funds for the advancement of research initiatives and community programs. Heart disease is the nation’s No. 1 cause of death, claiming nearly a million American lives each year, more than all forms of cancer combined.

“Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the U.S., which means many of us have family and friends who have been impacted by heart health complications or have their own heart health difficulties,” said Jim Pagano. “At Kiely, we look for opportunities to make real change in the quality of people’s lives by reinvesting in the communities we serve.”

As chair of the Heart Walk, Jim Pagano will lead a team of Southern New Jersey executives to recruit companies and organizations to take part in the event. Through this initiative, the leadership team and supporting organizations will raise funds for the American Heart Association while leading action-oriented conversations about employee health, corporate engagement, community health and community transformation.

“We are incredibly grateful for these leaders who are stepping up to move the needle when it comes to heart disease and stroke,” said Victoria Duda, Development Director at the American Heart Association. “Through the Heart Walk, we are able to drive maximum impact through employee engagement and corporate fundraising. Together, we can save lives right here in Southern New Jersey.”

The American Heart Association celebrates its centennial in 2024 – marking 100 years of scientific discovery and innovation. With bold hearts, the American Heart Association’s volunteers, supporters and staff forge ahead into the organization’s second century.

“Being the chair of the 2024 Southern New Jersey Heart Walk provides our enterprise and team members with a powerful opportunity to care for people,” said Jim Pagano. “This position is something I hold near and dear to my heart – quite literally – and we look forward to how we can help our community to be the best it can be.”

Heart disease and stroke are largely preventable through better lifestyle choices. The Heart Walk provides resources, tools and activities to support both mental and physical well-being for employers and employees.

The 2024 Southern New Jersey Heart Walk will take place May 18 at the Ocean City Civic Center & Boardwalk. For more information about the event or to get involved, contact Victoria Duda at Victoria.Duda@heart.org or visit snjspringhw.org.
