Liz DeVito leads local movement to improve women’s heart health

Hartford Steam Boiler Vice President, IoT Solutions to chair the American Heart Association’s Greater Hartford 2025 Go Red for Women® movement

Liz DeVito, Vice President, IoT Solutions for Hartford Steam Boiler will serve as the executive volunteer chair of the 2025 Greater Hartford Go Red for Women® movement, a comprehensive platform designed more than two decades ago to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. DeVito will play a critical role by leading the Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon.

According to the American Heart Association, a global force for healthier lives for all, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in women, claiming more lives than all cancers combined. Nearly 45% of women over age 20 are living with some form of CVD. Heart disease and stroke continue to be Connecticut women’s greatest health threat.

“I am honored and privileged to chair the 2025 Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon celebrating its 20th year,” said DeVito. “Having been involved as an Executive Leadership Team member for 9 years, I understand the importance of the impact this event has on supporting women’s heart health,” said DeVito. “I was inspired to chair Go Red for Women this year because I personally experienced the loss of my dad to heart failure and have a passion for spreading awareness about heart health and specifically the symptoms of heart disease in women.  And I want to amplify how the work of the American Heart Association can positively impact women in the Hartford region and beyond.”

The Go Red for Women Luncheon is designed to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death for women in the United States, as well as generate funds for lifesaving cardiovascular research for women. This signature women focused event will feature a keynote speaker, inspirational survivor, silent auction and a heart healthy lunch.

“We are so grateful to have Liz as our Go Red for Women chair this year,” said Adria Giordano, American Heart Association Connecticut Executive Director. “Her passion for our mission and leadership will make a notable impact on the lives of women in our community and the families that depend on them.”
