The American Heart Association is proud to work with WCVB Channel 5 Boston, which produced and is airing a powerful public service announcement in recognition of American Heart Month throughout February.
The PSA features Jessica Brown, who co-anchors WCVB Channel 5’s 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts, and also serves as the station’s medical reporter, and underscores the importance of CPR education, particularly for parents and caregivers.
Incorporating messaging from the American Heart Association’s “Your Child, Your Heart” campaign, the PSA encourages families to be prepared in case of a cardiac emergency:
Each year, more than 23,000 children experience cardiac arrest, and nearly 20% of them are infants. Immediate CPR can be the difference between life and death, which is why the American Heart Association is working to build a Nation of Lifesavers.
We are incredibly grateful to WCVB Channel 5 and Jessica for their dedication to heart health awareness. By sharing this critical message, they are helping to equip more parents and caregivers with the knowledge they need to save lives.
