Chase executive leads movement to improve women’s heart health in New York City

Allison Beer to chair the American Heart Association’s New York City 2025-26 Go Red for Women® initiative

Nearly half of women ages 20 and older are living with some form of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the No. 1 killer of women. Because of her passion for improving women’s heart health in New York City, Allison Beer, Chief Executive Officer, Card Services and Connected Commerce at Chase, will serve as the 2025-26 volunteer chair of Go Red for Women.

Launched more than two decades ago to increase women’s heart health awareness, Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s global movement designed to serve as a catalyst for change to improve the health of women.

CVD is the leading cause of death in women, claiming more lives than all cancers combined, and continues to be women’s greatest health threat. According to the American Heart Association, devoted to a world of healthier lives for all, as women grow and change so does their risk for CVD. Unique life stages like pregnancy and menopause can affect that risk. The good news is that most cardiovascular disease incidents can be prevented through lifestyle changes and education. Through Go Red for Women, the Association calls on all women to take charge of their health and encourage other women to do the same. Because when it comes to their health, women have the best resource: they have each other.

“I’m proud to support the American Heart Association and help raise awareness of heart disease, the number one cause of death for women,” said Allison Beer, CEO of Card and Connected Commerce at Chase and Chair of the 2025-26 New York City Go Red for Women movement. “As I’ve become more involved with Go Red for Women, I’ve learned there are many ways we can positively impact our heart health. I’m committed to inspiring women everywhere to educate themselves and take steps to live longer, healthier lives.”

“We are incredibly grateful for Allison and her unwavering passion and dedication to the Go Red for Women movement,” said Jill Kalman, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Northwell Health and the 2024-25 volunteer chair of Go Red for Women in New York City. “Her leadership will be a powerful force, inspiring change and advancing the cause of women’s equity with relentless commitment and purpose.”
