Mother of young stroke survivor and community leader to co-chair 79th Annual An Affair of the Heart

Christina Treacy (L) and Jenn Mastran (R) are the co-chairs for the 79th annual An Affair of the Heart Luncheon and Fashion Show.

Christina Treacy and Jenn Mastran have been named co-chairs for  An Affair of the Heart Luncheon & Fashion Show, in its 79th year on February 19, 2027.

Christina Treacy is a native of Harrisburg, Pa., and a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication Studies. She recently retired from Microsoft Corporation following a 30-year career in sales and marketing. She and her husband, Jim, live in Great Falls, Va., and are the proud parents of twin daughters.

Christina joined the Women’s Board of the American Heart Association in 2025 and serves on its Executive Committee. Her commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission is deeply personal. In 2020, her daughter Lauren suffered a stroke at the age of 18. Following Lauren’s remarkable recovery, Christina became a passionate advocate for raising awareness and funding research to fight heart disease and stroke. Christina joined the event’s Women’s Board and Lauren joined the junior program, the Young Hearts Board. In 2026, Christina and Lauren shared their family’s story onstage at the Affair of the Heart Luncheon and walked the runway for the fashion show.

“My daughter having a stroke at just 18 was a huge wakeup call for me and my family,” said Treacy. “We didn’t know the symptoms to look for and we didn’t know it could happen to someone so young. Lauren and I teamed up to support the American Heart Association Women’s Board to raise awareness about stories like Lauren’s. Events like An Affair of the Heart raise critical funds and education while providing a fun and unforgettable experience.”

Jenn Mastran is a lifelong advocate for health, wellness and strong communities, with 36 years of experience in the fitness industry. As a mother of four and grandmother of three grandsons, Jenn is passionate about helping women prioritize their health and well-being.

Jenn is a founding board member of Evergreen Christian School, where she currently serves as chairman of the Board of Regents and is a member of the Finance Committee and the Development Committee. She has also served as the school’s development director for the past six years, helping advance the school’s mission through relationships, fundraising and community engagement.

“I’m honored to serve on the American Heart Association Women’s Board,” said Mastran.  “As a fitness and education leader, mother and grandmother, my mission is to help women improve their health and fitness as a first step to overall empowerment. This issue is personal for me too; despite a healthy lifestyle, I’ve battled high blood pressure for years, and have learned to advocate for myself and others when it comes to heart disease prevention and treatment.”

Founded in 1947, the Women’s Board is one of the longest-standing philanthropic groups in the Greater Washington region, raising more than $10.5 million to date to support the Association’s mission. The board is a dynamic, hands-on network of women leaders who share a passion for advancing cardiac care, education and research.
