AHA Philadelphia volunteer and heart surgeon talks type 2 diabetes and heart disease with local radio personality

Dr. Deon Vigilance, chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Mercy Health System and president-elect of the American Heart Association Southeastern Pennsylvania board of directors, spoke with Lady B of Classix Philly 107.9 FM about the link between type 2 diabetes and heart disease and stroke. In 2018, the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association launched a campaign to educate communities across the U.S. about the prevention, management and treatment of type 2 diabetes.
