Chair named for American Heart Association’s 2024 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball

As the American Heart Association kicks off its centennial year, Sean McCool of 1st Summit Bank has been named chair of the 2024 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball, set for Saturday, April 13 at The Willow in Johnstown.

Sean McCool currently serves as assistant vice president and business relationship manager at 1st Summit Bank. Sean joined 1st Summit Bank in 2021 after a decade-long career in marketing, communications and public relations at Penn Highlands Community College and Carnegie Mellon University. He was named assistant vice president in June 2023.

Active in the Johnstown community, he serves on the board of directors for Discover Downtown Johnstown Partnership, Cambria County Backpack Project and Johnstown Area Heritage Association. He is also involved with The Learning Lamp’s Development Committee and volunteers with SEADS (Sustainable Employment for Adults with Disabilities), Richland Community Days, and more. He lives in Richland with his wife, Tonya, two entertaining kiddos, Carter & Riley, and an energetic pup, Murphy.

The 2024 Cambria Somerset Heart Ball is set for Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at The Willow in Johnstown and is sponsored by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan, 1st Summit Bank, Highmark, Conemaugh Health System, Concurrent Technologies Corporation, AmeriServ Bank, Horizons Personal Care, GapVax, JWF Industries, Nulton Aviation and other local business supporters. The annual event is a night to acknowledge the association’s year-round efforts to drive health equity in central Pennsylvania. In honor of the Association’s centennial celebration, the event will also celebrate its 100-year history of pioneering scientific discovery, advocating for healthy communities and significantly reducing heart disease and stroke death rates.

Throughout the evening the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
