Giving Thanks Through Advocacy: You’re The Cure

Every day, Americans’ lives are touched by heart disease and stroke. Whether it is our own health that is impacted or the lives of family members, friends, or co-workers, there is a lot at stake when it comes to fighting our nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers. But we all have the power to make a difference by speaking out for policies that help build healthier communities and healthier lives.  Check out this video message on the power of being an advocate with heart by American Heart Association Greater Washington Region Board President, Dr. Federico Asch and his daughter, Lara.

For more than 30 years, You’re the Cure – the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s grassroots network – has been doing just that. We’re a community of fathers and mothers, neighbors and friends, researchers and caregivers, passionate about an America that’s free of heart disease and stroke. Each day, we work together to advocate for heart-healthy and stroke-smart communities through legislative and regulatory policies in our cities, states and across the country, and we hope you’ll join us!
