It is a fact that children who eat healthy foods and are physically active do better in schools. They are more focused, ready to learn and get better grades.
New Hampshire schools are working to establish well-written Local Wellness Policies to include steps to encourage students learn about nutrition, regular physical activity, quality physical education, as well as, limiting food and beverage marketing that happens on school property.
Want to get involved? As a You’re The Cure advocate, you can help implement an effective school wellness policy in your town by first acquainting yourself with the current policy and ask school district decision makers to create a plan to promote students’, health, well-being and ability to learn. Ask your neighbors and friends to also raise their hand to ensure kids learn health eating and physical activity habits that can last a lifetime!

Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For nearly 100 years, we’ve been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
