Greater Washington Region- On Friday October 26th the Greater Washington Region American Heart Association recognized the Primary Care Coalition (PCC) and their 11 Montgomery County Maryland clinical sites for Target BP recognition. PCC represents 50,000 diverse patients from clinics such as Mary’s Center, Chinese Culture and Community Service Center/Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic, and Muslim Community Center Medical Clinic and Dental Clinic.
The PCC is deeply committed to providing a continuum of care for low-income, uninsured and underinsured, ethnically diverse residents of Montgomery County. The PCC has pledged to work with the American Heart Association Target BP initiative to provide their clinical partners tools and resources to achieve recommended blood pressure control rates. The American Heart Association will also provide additional resources to assist all sites with identified needs in order to provide equitable high quality health care for their entire patient population that reinforces PCC belief of everyone having the right to high quality health care regardless of their race, ethnicity, country of origin, or income status.
Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. For nearly 100 years, we’ve been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish quality of life. We want to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
