Southern NJ – Dr. Renée Bullock-Palmer has been named the 2022 Spring Go Red for Women Chair

March 7, 2022 – Southern NJ— The American Heart Association is proud to announce that the Chair for the 2022 Southern NJ Go Red For Women campaign will be Dr. Renée Bullock-Palmer, Director of Women’s Heart Center and Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging for Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Go Red encourages every woman to take charge of her heart health and combat the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of American Women, heart disease and stroke.

“I have been inspired by the work of the American Heart Association and Go Red For Women, and I look forward to working with the 2022 Executive Leadership towards its most successful year yet,” says Dr. Bullock-Palmer.  “The women of New Jersey deserve quality healthcare, access to healthy foods, and safe streets, which work preventatively to reduce the number of people who suffer from cardiovascular disease.  I have watched cardiac research advances, and lifestyle changes save a family member, and look forward to spreading the word to New Jersey women and funding more transformative research in the Garden State.”

The Luncheon will be held on April 29, 2022, at the Woodcrest Country Club 300 Evesham Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ  08003. The American Heart Association raises funds from local and national Go Red For Women activities to support awareness, research, education, and community programs to benefit women.  Unfortunately, only 55 percent of women realize heart disease is their No. 1 killer. In addition, less than half know what are considered healthy levels for cardiovascular risk factors like blood pressure and cholesterol. The Go Red For Women movement works to make sure women know they are at risk to take action to protect their health.  As a result, 80% of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle modifications.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Renée Bullock-Palmer will lead the Southern NJ Go Red for Women this year,” says Earnestine Walker, Executive Director, American Heart Association in Southern New Jersey. “Under her leadership, we are confident that we will achieve the goals for Go Red For Women, which will support the advancement of transformational research initiatives and educational programs in our local community to help people lead longer, healthier lives. “

The funds raised at the Go Red for Women Luncheon will help fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in South Jersey.
