The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) is pleased to announce Albert Pylinski, Jr., Executive Vice President, CFO, CRO, and Treasurer of New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance Company, as the chairman of the 2016 America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk. Pylinski will lead the fundraising efforts for the Heart Run & Walk in the Greater Utica/Mohawk Valley area to help achieve the AHA’s 2020 impact goal: to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20%.

Money raised at events like the Heart Run & Walk goes towards lifesaving research, advocacy, and education programs, as well as local Community Impact Grants. The AHA/ASA is in every school, grocery store, hospital, and cardiologist’s office in Utica with programs, advocacy efforts, and medical breakthroughs.

“My family, friends and the greater good for all is why I dedicate my time and effort to the American Heart Association,” says Pylinski. “It is through research, education, good nutrition, and exercise we all will become a more healthy society.”

Albert Pylinski currently serves as a Board member and in various officer positions of New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Albert F. Stager, Inc., A. Central Insurance Company, NYCM Holdings, Inc., NYCM Foundation, Inc., and NYCM Insurance Agency, Inc. He also serves as a board member of the AHA/ASA and The Friends of Bassett.

The 2016 America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk will be held on Saturday, March 6th at Utica College. Earlier this month, the 2015 event raised $1,083,187 with help from more than 6,500 runners and walkers. Pylinski was the top individual fundraiser with a total of more than $44,000.

Pylinski’s support is a great honor for the AHA/ASA. “Albert is a long-time supporter of America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk,” says Jennifer Balog, Executive Director of the Greater Utica American Heart Association. “We are excited to see him take on this important role for the organization and proud of all his work to improve our community’s health.”
