New York, NY, October 12, 2017 — The American Heart Association | American Stroke Association is pleased to announce the date and event chair for its annual Wall Street Run & Heart Walk. The 2018 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk will take place on Thursday, May 17 and will be chaired by David Chubak, Head of Global Retail Banking & Mortgage at Citi.
“On behalf of the Citi team, it is an honor to serve as event chair for the 2018 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk. Cardiovascular disease and stroke remain leading causes of death for Americans, but together with the American Heart Association, we can raise awareness and funds to take on these very serious threats,” said David Chubak. “I challenge all of you to make New York City the healthiest city in 2018. See you at the starting line on Thursday, May 17!”
The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is a 3-mile walk/run designed to engage the New York City corporate and medical communities in an activity that promotes heart health through physical activity, friendly competition, volunteerism, fundraising and fun. The event brings together over 150 of the top companies in New York City and about 12,000 participants.
“The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk not only inspires participants to live a healthy life, but brings the community together to fight the number one killer and number one disabler of Americans,” said Kathy Kauffmann, Senior Vice President, NYC/Long Island, American Heart Association. “Last year, thousands of people came together to walk, raise funds, and share their stories of the lasting effects of stroke and heart disease. I invite all New Yorkers to walk with us on May 17, 2018 in honor or in memory of loved ones impacted by heart diseases, stroke and congenital heart defects. Together, we will rally around a great cause!”

The American Heart Association uses the funds raised through Heart Walk to finance cutting-edge scientific research, conduct public and professional education programs and advocate for public health.
