New York, NY, August 1, 2018 — The annual Brooklyn Heart Walk will take place on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at MCU Park in Coney Island. More than 1,000 walkers are expected to participate in the Heart Healthy walk and family fun day at through MCU Park — home of the Brooklyn Cyclones — and the world-famous boardwalk.
The American Heart Association’s signature fundraising event, the Heart Walk, is designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living by creating an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire family. In addition to the non-competitive walk, the day includes free health screenings, entertainment, cardiovascular advice from experts, giveaways, a kids’ zone and healthy snacks.
MCU Park is located at 1904 Surf Avenue in Brooklyn. Registration is now open at Brooklynheartwalk.org or day of the event at 9am, with the walk starting at 10am.

Heart disease and stroke remain two of the leading health threats to all Americans. Many participants form heart walk teams with family, friends and co-workers to support or honor loved ones affected by heart disease, stroke and congenital heart defects.
The Brooklyn Heart and Stroke Walk is designed to engage Brooklyn’s businesses, corporations and community in a fun-filled day that promotes heart health through physical activity, friendly competition, volunteerism and fundraising.
With no participation fee, the Brooklyn Heart Walk encourages all New Yorkers to join in on the festivities. In addition, walkers are eligible for a Heart Walk t-shirt once they have raised a minimum of $100.
The American Heart Association uses the funds raised through its Heart Walks to finance cutting-edge scientific research, conduct public and professional education programs and advocate for public health.
