AHA fills two key positions in the Mohawk Valley

The American Heart Association (AHA) is pleased to announce two new members on its Mohawk Valley team.

Christine Kisiel has been named Executive Director. Kisiel has more than 20 years of experience cultivating successful relationships and leading a team of professionals through a constantly changing environment. Kisiel comes to the AHA from Utica College, where she served most recently as the Executive Director of Parent and Athletic Engagement.

In her role as Executive Director at the AHA, Kisiel will be working with the local American Heart Association Board of Directors, dedicated volunteers and sponsors to further the AHA’s mission as a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

“I’m looking forward to working with my staff and volunteers to bring the American Heart Association’s mission to the community,” Kisiel said. “My goals include educating the local community on heart health, helping to improve access to healthy foods and continuing the conversation about the effects of smoking and e-cigarettes on youth.”

Kisiel lives in New Hartford with her family and enjoys participating in local triathlons and races.

Pamela Mustee is joining the AHA as a Development Director. Mustee will work with local companies, volunteers and individual donors on programs and events including America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk. She is an accomplished public relations and development professional with 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector.

“I am excited for a position where I can have a positive impact on the health of our community,” Mustee said. “The work of the American Heart Association helps transform our community and support life-saving research, training and advocacy right here in Utica.”

Mustee also lives in New Hartford with her family. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce and holds an executive seat as Membership Council Chairperson. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Utica, assists on the Marketing and Alumni Committee for Leadership Mohawk Valley and serves as a Class Representative for the group.
