American Heart Association’s 18th annual luncheon event returns to Hartford lead by Lori Groth of Stanley Black & Decker
After nearly two years away from in person Go Red for Women luncheons, today the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, announced the 2022 Hartford Go Red for Women® Luncheon will return to our community.
This signature event which will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at the Connecticut Convention Center and will feature a keynote speaker, inspirational survivor, and a heart healthy lunch.
The Go Red for Women Luncheon, chaired by Lori Groth, CIO of Industrial, Stanley Black & Decker, is designed to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death for women in the United States, as well as generate funds for lifesaving cardiovascular research for women.
“The fight to end heart disease and stroke in women is relentless,” said Lori Groth. “The American Heart Association is committed to raising funding lifesaving research for women’s heart health. We are proud to support the Go Red for Women Luncheon in Hartford to raise awareness to the pivotal work being done for women’s health in Connecticut. ”
“It’s not just about wearing red. It’s not just about sharing heart-health facts. It’s about all women standing together with Go Red for Women — because 1 in 3 women die from cardiovascular diseases and losing even one woman is too many,” said Leigh Pechillo, Go Red for Women Director and heart survivor. “Now more than ever, we need to continue to make a difference in the heart health of women in Connecticut.”
“There’s something about the energy that builds when we meet in person for this movement and we’re looking forward to be being able to see one another and continue raising funds for this worthy cause.” said Groth.
