The American Heart Association in New Hampshire is entering its 2024-25 fiscal year with dedicated volunteers who will lead the organization’s local team in pursuit of its mission, to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. The Association thanks members who have completed their board terms and has named a new president and chair, along with welcoming several new members to its board of directors.

Stepping up into leadership roles are the Association’s Board Chair Mark Dell’Orfano, an attorney with the NH Attorney General’s Office, and Board President Vikas Veeranna, MD, Cardiologist with CMC’s New England Heart & Vascular Institute.

The newest members of the Association’s Board of Directors are: Maryanne Aldrich, Senior Practice Manager, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center; Stephen Hanlon, MD, Cardiologist, Catholic Medical Center; Matthew Johnson, JD, Shareholder, Devine Millimet; Ted Kitchens, A.A.E., Director of Aviation, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport; and Tracie Murphy, Customer Service, Lactalis U.S. Yogurt.
Continuing board members include: Joshua Benton, Chief Executive Officer, The Executive Health and Fitness Center; Eric Frauwirth, Director, Palmer CTE Center at Alvirne High School; Michelle Ouellette, MD, Interventional Cardiologist, Catholic Medical Center; and Tim Wade, President, NH Market, M&T Bank.
“As a volunteer-based organization, the American Heart Association relies on the dedication of people who are committed to our mission, and whose passion helps drive our success,” said Brian Shankey, the Association’s Executive Director for Northern New England. “Board members work alongside the Association’s New Hampshire staff to advance its mission and fundraising priorities. The board oversees opportunities for investment in New Hampshire to improve health and well-being and will build on existing efforts around health care access and quality, addressing issues of nutrition and food security, hypertension reduction, CPR awareness and more.”
