The Centennial Experience at Scientific Sessions

The American Heart Associated celebrated its 100th birthday in a fun, interactive way at 2024 Scientific Sessions.

The Centennial Experience, a new exhibit for Scientific Sessions at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL, sits in a prominent spot right outside registration and the Main Event theater. The exhibit was a museum of American Heart Association history and advances with timeline displays, artifacts, videos and interactive experiences. It became a place for conference attendees to gather and make connections, as well.

At the Smart Hearts exhibit people had the chance to test their knowledge of the American Heart Association and cardiovascular health history. The game show environment had tablets with a trivia quiz and even top scores on display.

The two large headlines outside the Centennial Experience described what to expect inside: “A century of scientific cardiovascular advances” and “Navigating the future of health together.”

The experience looked to the future with the Second Century: Your Vision booth. Anyone could step inside to record a video sharing their inspiration and aspirations for the future.

The American Heart Association’s Centennial year has been full of celebrations at the local, regional and national level. Scientific Sessions marks the last major national event of the 2024 celebration. The science discussed at the event, as well as all the connections participants made, are inspiring examples of how the AHA is looking forward to its second century.
